Being busy is killing our ability to think creatively. Link This article confirmed that information addiction is indeed an issue in the context of modern society. The addiction to any screen, but phones specifically, has a negative effect on one's ability to think. What I did not know and what I learned from this article is that not only does the addiction to the phone impact us, but also the addiction to stress and 'productivity.' The productivity is one that happens when you are close to a deadline and need to complete it. This type of productivity is not fueled by creativity; instead, it is fueled by adrenaline and cortisol.  Mindfulness. Link

This chapter of the graphic novel is titled Krishna: The Victorious . It presents a lot of storylines to the reader. Many of them have to do with Krishna marrying new women. It starts with Krishna interacting with Arjuna, the great warrior of the Pandavas. It is cool to see how they interact when presented in Krishna’s story. When we read the Mahabharata there was less development of Krishna, so it is cool to understand his character better. The first adventure that the two share is when they are riding near a river and see a beautiful woman sitting next to it. She is obsessed with Krishna and is determined to marry him. She does end up marrying Krishna. There is another woman named Maravedi, who is the princess of Ujjayini, a faction hostile to Krihsna. She is also obsessed with marrying Krishna. Her brothers forbid it, but Krishna just shows up and rides off with her in his chariot.  Another girl who Krishna marries is Satya. She is the daughter of Mangajit, the king of A

I’m back for part 6 of this adventure through this fun comic book. Krishna starts the chapter by having to deal with the invading armies of Jarasandha. He has to do this immediately after defeating the armies of Kalayavana. Krishna tricks Jarasandha by faking his death in a massive fire on the mountain. Krishna decides to marry Rukmini in this chapter. His reasoning is that she is very beautiful, and that she is also very intelligent. Rukmini is also thinking that she wants to marry Krishna based off the stories she has heard of his exploits and his attractiveness. Rukmini’s brothers are also thinking about a husband for Rukmini. One of them suggests Krishna but he is vehemently vetoed by the eldest brother who hates Krishna. Instead Rukmini is betrothed to Shishupala, a friend of Rukmi, Rukmini’s eldest brother. Rukmini is distressed by this arranged marriage and falls into a deep depression. She sent for a brahmin to help decide how to act. She told the brahmin that she wanted

This graphic novel was so engrossing that I had to add read it one more time. I am glad that I decided to read this one. It is such a good way to read through the Krishna stories after reading them earlier in the semester. The last chapter left off with Kamsa attempting to kill both Krishna and Balarama. Krishna comes back home and is reunited with Vasudeva and Devaki. That is one of the big payoffs for this chapter because the way in which he was separated from them. It was such a sad separation and I was so elated when he was finally reunited with them. Kamsa had been defeated by Krishna and Krishna had then install Ugrasena as the king. Ugrasena had been the king before Kamsa, but he had been deposed by Kamsa. This story feels very similar the Ramayana in that Krishna, Vishnu, is slowly going through and ridding the world of evil, killing different kings and demons and asuras. In much the same way that Rama had a mentor, Krishna also has a mentor in the form of a guru, named S
